Myrtle Beach City Government has reminded residents and visitors that the beach and boardwalk are fire-free areas. It is important to refrain from bringing fireworks, grills, barbeques, or any open flames to these areas for safety reasons. Open flames pose a hazard and can cause unintentional harm to those nearby. Instead of lighting personal fireworks on the Fourth of July, the community is encouraged to attend a free, oceanfront fireworks show at the Second Avenue Pier. Violations of these rules are considered misdemeanors and could result in a fine of up to $500 and/or 30 days in jail upon conviction. It is advised to prioritize safety and avoid lighting fires on the beach. #MyrtleBeach #CityofMyrtleBeach
