Ocala Police Offers Free Citizen Police Academy in September

The Ocala Police Department is offering a Citizen Police Academy starting in September. This program allows Marion County residents to learn about different departments within the agency and participate in law enforcement activities.

The six-week academy will run from Sept. 9 to Oct. 14 on Monday nights from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the police headquarters. The program is free, but applicants must be at least 21 years old and pass a background check. The deadline to apply is Aug. 26.
