On Saturday, the City of North Port hosted its Quarterly Business Welcome event, recognizing 74 new business owners who opened their doors in the fourth quarter of 2024. City Manager Jerome Fletcher and the Economic Development team celebrated this achievement.

In the fiscal year 2023-24, North Port saw a total of 286 new businesses established, reflecting a four percent year-over-year growth in new businesses and a 20 percent increase in commercial ventures. Notably, 74 percent of the new businesses are home-based, while 26 percent are classified as commercial.
