Sarasota Hazardous Waste Drive-Thru at Payne Park
The City of Sarasota and Sarasota County are hosting a household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon at Payne Park, located at 2010 Adams Lane. Residents are asked to enter the parking lot off East Avenue, directly opposite the Department of Health.
The event is available as a free drive-thru service and is open only to residents of Sarasota City and Sarasota County. Participants may be required to provide proof of residency, and Sarasota County may limit the amount of waste collected. No commercial or organizational waste will be accepted.
Accepted items include electronics, gasoline, batteries, adhesives, aerosols, antifreeze, automotive products, cleaners, fluorescent lamps, household fire extinguishers, mercury, motor oil, pool chemicals, and more.
Items not accepted are ammunition, empty containers larger than five gallons, fertilizers, fireworks, flares, medications, needles or syringes, radioactive materials, and tires.
Residents are advised to place materials in their vehicle trunks, remain in their vehicles, and follow the instructions of event staff, who will unload the materials. Walk-ups will not be accepted.
For additional hazardous waste disposal needs, residents can visit 8750 Bee Ridge Road Monday through Saturday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
